Portrait of Naomi Sato

Naomi Sato

Practice
Modern Ukiyo-e
Studio
Kyoto, Japan

Naomi studies the rhythm of water, wind, and distant horizons. She translates those observations into contemporary compositions influenced by printmaking and restrained Japanese line.

She reduces a landscape until only its essential cadence remains. Flat passages, precise edges, and open space allow traditional visual rhythms to feel clear and contemporary.
